The request was to create an image that mimicked Grant Wood’s American Gothic painting for Mercier Orchards. We started with a studio shot of an elderly couple with the man holding a rake with a Mercier Cider bottle, and the woman holding a basket of apples. We combined that with a photo of the actual American Gothic house in Eldon, Iowa, and then proceeded to adjust the people and the background to make them look similar to the painting. The final is American Gothic Mercier Orchard style. The next step – a fun animation.
